Job Description

In the Process Industries Sweden business area, we have all the disciplines and technical expertise required to run EPCM projects in the process industry. This gives us a broad competence to use towards our customers and opportunities to take on larger internal projects.
Project Management Office (PMO) is today a team of 50 wonderful colleagues based all over the country. We run and support our organization with project management, planning, document control, financial follow-up, purchasing, engineering management and construction management in projects.
AFRY is now recruiting?an Engineering manager in order to increase our ability to perform large multidisciplinary projects within the Process Industry. The engineering manager works in close collaboration with the project manager and discipline leads. You reports to the Project Manager in projects and in line organisation to Section Manager for Engineering.


Qualifications


The Engineering manager shall oversee and on a high level manage all technical engineering issues, by close follow-up with the discipline leads. The engineering manager is also responsible for the data handling and coordination of 3D-models and reviews. The engineering manager shall make sure that all necessary project quality routines are followed in the day-to-day engineering work and that there is a good interdisciplinary communication between relevant parties within the project.
· The engineering manager shall be orderly and experienced in coordinating technical issues in complex projects, preferably with experience from Process industry, Metal or Mining industry.
· The engineering manager shall have high communication skills and assume responsibility to coordinate the different technical parts within the project.
· You have good knowledge in project management and engineering tools.
· You have a high business attitude since our relations, both internally and externally, are based on close cooperation and good relations.
· You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both orally and in writing, and hold a driving license (B)

Position
As Technical Expert Direct Reduction you will be responsible for providing process engineering and operational support in the development of a direct reduction technology based on hydrogen. You will make recommendations on how to improve operational efficiency, quality, safety and environmental issues, which can include changes of operating practices as well as equipment upgrades and modifications. You will be part of projects and troubleshooting at plant.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Conduct a full range of process engineering and development activities
· Contribute actively to experimental trials, with evaluation of results, and simulation of chemical reactions, heat and mass processes
· Identify, develop, and implement process improvements
· Actively participate within the development team
· Coordinate with other colleagues and partners
· Share and document results
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of experience within a relevant position in a production or process development environment, preferably from working with iron and steel industry and/or direct reduction processes
· Metallurgical and/or chemical reaction process engineering competence and skills
· MSc in chemistry or metallurgy
· A strong action and operational focus to make things happen
· Excellent writing and communication in English
· Meritorious if experience in Six Sigma and working in international environment
Location
The position will be based in Luleå, northern part of Sweden. It is a local permanent position 100%.

Position

As Senior Process Engineer Gas Systems you will be responsible for conducting process engineering and development activities for gas processes such as production, compression, heating and storage of gases as a critical part of the fossil-free steelmaking value chain.

Your responsibilities will include:


• Execute a full range of process development and design activities for gas and specifically hydrogen gas processes.
• Calculate heat mass balances
• Actively contribute to the development and design of hydrogen gas processing systems
• Participate in development projects
• Coordinate with other disciplines and partners
• Documentation of results in reports
• Contribution to company objectives, and development of know-how

 

Qualifications


• 3-5 years of experience as a development engineer from hydrogen, oil and gas or petrochemical industry
• Experience from hydrogen production processes, hydrogen handling, compression and storage
• Experience from industrial process design is an advantage
• MSc in chemistry or similar
• Excellent writing and communication skills in English

 

Location

• Conduct modelling activities focused on direct reduction of iron in laboratory, pilot and full industrial scale.

Qualifications


• 3-5 years of experience as a modelling engineer within computational fluid dynamics (CFD), transport processes and reaction technology

Your responsibilities will include:


• Lead and execute process engineering and optimization activities and projects
• Contribute actively to the process development with your experience and skills in metallurgical processes, modelling, process optimization and process control.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and partners.
• Share and document results and know-how, identify future needs and participate in planning engineering and development activities.
• Leverage your senior background to participate in the development team.

 

Qualifications


• Senior experience (+5 years) with metallurgical process development and engineering.
• Solid competence and skills regarding process modelling, optimization, control, modification design.
• Industrial experience in metals, alternatively mining & minerals sector.
• Experience with design, commissioning, operation with direct reduction plants advantageous
• MSc in chemistry, metallurgy
